Laurie's Experience
Laurie has always been an athlete and competitor, from her high school days of competitive track and cross country
running, to a list of inspiring achievements in her adult life that include summiting mountains, guiding rivers and
a variety of racing. A pleasing, and perhaps surprising, element of Laurie’s personality is that she considers herself
to be a regular person, leading a regular life.
"I'm not a world class climber, or a sponsored athlete," she says.
She is a mother, business owner, public speaker and educator. She squeezes her training into a day full of tasks and
responsibilities, just like the rest of us. And throughout her life she’s created the time to train for and complete
significant goals.
Laurie is currently working as an international mountain guide for
Adventures International.
